Learn more about our mission to positively change the narrative about Africa and the team helping to fulfill this mission
Our mission is to positively change the narrative about Africa.
The Africa I Know initiative was founded to showcase African success stories and to narrate Africa's rich history. We hope that this will inspire young Africans and enable them to actively contribute to the future of the continent.
African hidden figures - all over the world - are engaged in successful careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and more. The Africa I Know sheds light on their journeys through a set of interviews to inspire young Africans. We hope their advice from learned lessons will guide the next generation to reach its full potential.
Africans - both in the continent and abroad - are making strides to solve Africa's most dire problems. We highlight all the exciting ways in which Africans are leveraging technology to solve the continent's problems, in the areas of education, health, agriculture, etc.
"Until the lion tells his side of the story, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunters" -African proverb.
We give voice to historians from the continent to provide a balanced recounting of Africa's rich history. We also publish analyses of contemporary issues through a historical African lens.
Meet these African researchers, academics, engineers, entrepreneurs, scientists, historians, students who are helping realize the mission.
